New Patients - Welcome!
On your first visit to our office you can expect to spend roughly an hour in office. The reason for this is introductory paper work and a full assessment. To save time, please download our patient history and insurance forms and bring them with you. The examination is designed to evaluate your chief complaint and the health of your spine and nervous system.
Your assessment will include:
• History form consultation
• Postural Analysis
• Neurological Exam
• Orthopaedic Exam
• Muscle and Joint Function assessment
• Imaging reports (x-ray, MRI) overview
The tests performed will allow Dr. Burgess to locate the areas from which the pain originates and health of your spine that could be the root of your problem. The findings from the exam will be explained to you and if you are a candidate for Chiropractic care, a treatment plan will be designed for optimal recovery and corrective measures and treatment will begin.
What to expect after your first adjustment:
Your body will be processing your first adjustment for several hours. You may feel no change, relaxation, or experience some soreness before you feel better. Responses that are uncomfortable are temporary and normal, and will vary between patients.
Patients fall into three categories of care: Relief, Corrective, and Strengthening and Maintenance Care.
